Sabrina Soto recently welcomed her first daughter! And she, like most new mom's was pretty overwhelmed with what to buy! Here are her suggestions on what you actually need for a newborn.
Food: If you decided against breastfeeding or that is not an option you’ll want to have at least 2 bottles on hand for your little one.
Sleep Time: You don’t need a crib the first day that your bring your bundle home as long as you have at least a bassinet. If you have your crib that is fantastic. You will need then a mattress, 2 fitted sheets, and 2 mattress pads.
Travel: You’ll need a car seat to get you and the little one home from the hospital. You will also need a stroller, baby carrier or sling to take them outside.
Changing: Diapers, wipes, and diaper cream will be your go to. As far as first aid, infants under 2 months old shouldn’t be given pain medicine, so the only items you’ll need are nail clippers and a digital rectal thermometer so you can tell when your baby has a fever.
Clothing: This is definitely something that as new moms we get a lot of, but newborns outgrow 0-3 month sizes so fast that they never get a chance to wear all of them! You really just need some onesies and some sleepers for the first couple of weeks.
