Robert A. Flutie
CEO & President
Robert A. Flutie can trace his passion for matching talent with opportunities to his early career in finance, and to the style driven aesthetic he attributes to his parents. Robert has spent the past 21 years in talent management; he learned its traditions, and is now an innovator of new ideas and strategies. Robert’s trajectory to the business was unconventional: he worked on Wall Street, studied advertising, and went to NYU film school before joining Company Models at the behest of his brother, Michael. He took on the roles of CFO and COO, and was responsible for expanding the breadth and depth of the business. He soon began to take a more active role on the talent side, with Michael as his mentor and collaborator. These diverse interests have given Robert a wide frame of reference when working with talent; helping him push the boundaries of what typical careers in entertainment look like.
Robert founded FLUTIE Entertainment after transitioning Jaime King’s career from modeling to acting. FLUTIE subsequently managed the careers of other notable artists, including Laura Prepon, Alexis Bledel, Michaela Watkins, Tommy Dewey, Kyle Bornheimer, and Katlin Olson. Taking the core business of each client and expanding it vertically has always been the goal for Robert. His unconventional background is a asset to colleagues and clients; using his knowledge of advertising and finance along with his creative vision for storytelling, he enhances the brands of his clients and delivers them on multiple platforms to consumers. Guiding FLUTIE from its early days as a more traditional talent management company into what it is today is a great testament to Robert’s tenacity and pioneering drive to provide creative solutions in a rapidly changing industry.
Robert was born in New York, and attended Mercer University, Adelphi University, and NYU. Robert lives in Los Angeles with his family.
Founded by Executive Producer Michael Flutie, Michael is a pioneer in creating and producing talent. Flutie is one of the industry's preeminent talent brand managers and producers, with an iconic history for discovering and guiding careers, creating powerful images and content and brokering groundbreaking talent and brand deals.
Shab Azma is an expert at branding, licensing, and talent management. She brings over 20 years of experience and her extensive knowledge of the industry to the table with every client. Azma began her career in the consumer products division at Universal Studios, managing licensing and branding for the studio’s mega hit properties such as Jurassic Park, Curious George, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and many other box office hits. She was recruited to become the Director of Licensing at Brand Sense Marketing, putting her in charge of clients such as Britney Spears, Dodge Motorsports, and Donald Trump.
Working with celebrities became a real area of expertise, leading Azma to management at The Firm. As Vice President of Licensing and Branding, she helped bridge the gap between celebrities and their intellectual property, and was in charge of managing licensing and brand extensions for several high profile clients like Build-A-Bear Workshop and Arthur as well as films released by Revolution Studios. Azma joined FLUTIE as a partner in 2009. The boutique size attracted her, as well as the passion and dedication the team has for clients. Some of her highlights at FLUTIE include leading the charge in building a full licensing program for Ayesha Curry to include Cookware and Bakeware, Kitchen Textiles, Bedding, Gardening and Meal Kits. Shab also served as Executive Producer on two seasons of Ayesha’s Food Network show and her ABC primetime show Family Food Fight. Azma has created retail licensing programs for other clients including Nicole Curtis, Sabrina Soto and Carter Oosterhouse and partnering up client Taniya Nayak with Ellen Degeneres as the brand ambassador for ED On Air. She was also a key player in retaining POPSUGAR as a client and successfully launching the POPSUGAR Must Have monthly subscription box.
Azma is a musician at heart, and loves playing piano with her son. She lives with her family in Los Angeles.
COO and Head of Business Affairs
Maryann Flutie has served as the COO and Head of Business Affairs at Flutie Entertainment for over a decade. She comes from a Law background, and brings that expertise to the company. Maryann graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston College and received her JD degree from the prestigious Villanova University School of Law. She spent twelve years practicing aviation litigation in New York City with the nation’s leading aviation law firm before moving to California in 2003. Maryann has come to find that what she loves most is being a part of a thriving family business. Working with great people and talented clients who the firm builds into globally recognized brands are what she considers to be the perks of her role. Maryann enjoys working for a company that gives a high level of individualized attention to each client and promotes their best interests, because they are members of the Flutie family. Outside of the office, Maryann is a busy mom of three who enjoys travel and tennis, which she played competitively at the collegiate level.
